Purple base: Icing "Text Me Later" 2 coats
Pink base: Icing "Cherry Blossom" 2 coats
Purple flakie: Icing "Pampered & Primped" 1 coat
Pink flakie: Icing "Rave Royalty" 1 coat
Text Me Later was the difficult one out of the bunch. The brush is messed up in ways I've never seen before. It is curved. The bristles on the sides are fine it's the middle bristles ... they have a curvature. Don't even ask, I have no idea what happened. Believe me, I was frustrated. It made application time consuming and generally tedious. The colour though, perfect. It is somewhat reminisent of an eggplant to me. I like it.
Cherry Blossom is a pretty medium toned shimmering pink. Application was good. Two coats needs for opacity.
Pampered & Primped consists of a lilac jelly base which is very sheer and the flakies remind me of Finger Paints Twisted. All different colours of flakies which is very pretty. Application was okay, I did feel the need to "place" some flakie pieces but it wasn't enough that I would consider it a drawback.
Rave Royalty has a sheer pink jelly base and had a gold, coral, orange (at some angles you see a slight bit of green) flakie thing going on, similar to Finger Paints Flashy. Application was the same as Pampered & Primped.
I'm a huge flakie lover so for me, having my Finger Paints flakie collection plus my two new Icing ones ... I can definitely justify it. Life is better with flakies.
Have a great Saturday!

I'm drooling for sure! Icing has the best polishes as far as 'trends' it seems. There are at least 3 on my "want" list and now I've added this to it! One can never have enough flakies! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Glad we agree about the ownership of flakie polish. One isn't enough but neither is 100. ;)
DeleteLove the flakie! I've never seen it before actually, but the gold elements are BEAUTIFUL! I'm definitely going to check out Icing for polishes, I was a little wary of them before because I had a few experiences where I found Claire's polishes to lack in quality, but that was some time ago.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, this is beautiful, and I like the look of the flakie, it looks like you crumbled up pieces of gold leaf and put it on! :D

You're right about the gold leaf - I never thought of that before! Definitely go check out Icing. The flakie polishes are $5 each but all of their cosmetics/nail polishes are BOGO 50% off so I got both for $7.50 +tax.
DeleteThis whole combination is so pretty!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, darlin'! I loved it.
DeleteWow, looks awesome! I definitely need to go back and get the flakies. They're so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes, go now! Haha. I'd love to see what you come up with!
DeleteBeautiful! I love flakies!
ReplyDeleteMe too. :)
DeleteOoh flakies! Too bad there isn't an Icing anywhere near where I live. :( Looks like I'll have to stock up when I'm on vacation!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you go on vacation that you can get Icing polishes? I'm curious, haha. They have a lot of fun new polishes, hope you can get your pretty hands on some! :)
DeleteEverything is so pretty! And I didnt know Icing had flakies! (:
ReplyDeleteI know, I was surprised when I saw them! I saw they had shard glitter polishes a couple months ago but flakies?! I'm so there. ;)
Deletethe flakies in that polish are gorgeous! i love how it's the chunky shard kind. i seriously need to hunt for polishes at the icing!
ReplyDeletejust stumbled on your blog and i love it btw (:
