Color Club I Always Get My Man-darin

Do you ever feel like you've had enough of all the dark and dreariness that can accompany winter weather? I sure hope so, because I've got some brightness to share with you! Color Club released their Wicked Sweet collection Summer 2011 and I am only NOW getting around to posting any of the polishes from that collection. I know, shame on me.

I do apologize for the artificial light in these photo's. Normally, my pictures are pretty colour accurate but I had difficulty with this polish. Just imagine it slightly brighter than what you see here.

I Always Get My Man-darin - 4 coats, no top coat.

I swear to you, this polish has the most beautiful shimmer, however it didn't want to play nicely. If you click on the images you can see what I mean. It is much more obvious IRL.

I Always Get My Man-darin is quite sheer and I used 4 coats to achieve the results you see above. Normally 4 coats would be pushing it for me, especially since there is still VNL. For some odd reason, it doesn't bother me as much as I was expecting it to. Perhaps it's the gorgeous blue shimmer placating me.

The Wicked Sweet collection boasts not only candy-like colours but scents as well. As you can probably guess from the name, this polish has a distinct citrus scent and is absolutely delicious. It literally makes you want to lick your nails - obviously I'm not encouraging you to do that, and recommend that you refrain from doing so.

What do you think of scented polish? What do you think of bright nails in winter?

  3. I'm not into scented polish, but I love bright colors in the winter. Winter is dark and dreary as it is, sometimes you just need to brighten things up. I also go by what I feel like wearing, I don't like to be stuck to only certain colors.

  4. I liked this collection. I hate orange but I love citrusy smells so I probably would have put up with the color!

  5. I have "The Lime Starts Here" from the Wicked Sweet Collection, and I've had the same problem with the sheerness (4 coats is minimum!). But I've worn mine over a nude creme and it was just great!
Anyways, I love "I Always Get my Man-darin" even though I'm not a fan of the name because it automatically makes me think of OPI's "A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find"...
And I know exactly what you mean with the "dark and dreariness" of the winter...

  6. Ooh I like this one on the nail. In the bottle it really didn't do much for me but seeing it swatched makes me kinda want it. I love the Wicked Sweet Collection though, the ones I have make my fingers smell like little candies :) And I love brights in the winter ;)
